Meet Dr. Kamrun Jenabzadeh. Dr. Jenabzadeh, eight-year resident of Maple Grove, is part-owner of Specialists In General Surgery, Chair of the Robotics Program at North Memorial Health Hospital, and Chief of Surgery at North Memorial Health Hospital. He also
performs surgery at Maple Grove Hospital.
Since the outbreak of Covid-19, he and his team have become more vigilant in taking care of patients, although they’ve always taken great care to avoid the spread of germs and disease. He’s seeing sicker people these days because they’ve been avoiding seeking medical attention for fear of becoming ill with Covid-19 and he also saw a rise in trauma cases with the rioting. In June he resumed elective surgeries after two and a half months of being shut down and is caught up on his backlog of patients.
On the personal side he is married to his beautiful wife Nicole of 13 years and is father to three amazing children. For him, karate has been a (mostly) lifelong journey and he is a 7th degree black belt. Jenabzadeh is sharing his love of the sport with his children and enjoying the bonding time. His oldest son, a 1st degree black belt through Dojo Karate in Maple Grove, is enjoying teaching Dad the karate forms which boosts his son’s self-esteem. “It’s the only sport where you can get such great experience at such a young age.”
